**We have updated our ADA Policies to align with Industry Standards as of July 1, 2024. Please note these changes.**
FanX Comic Convention strives to create an inclusive and friendly environment for all attendees. We are happy to provide various services to help you enjoy your experience!
1. Parking
FanX does not have reserved ADA parking for the event. However, ParkingSLC.com is a great resource for finding handicap-accessible lots near the Salt Palace.
2. ADA Entrance and Registration
For your convenience, there will be two ADA registrations at FanX. One is located at our West Temple entrance, and the other is at the Radisson Entrance on South Temple. (Next door to the Radisson Hotel). Please have your QR codes ready from your email confirmations. No Cash Sales will be available at either door.
**These two doors will also be available to all ticket holders as RE-ENTRY DOORS. PLEASE HAVE YOUR WRISTBANDS AVAILABLE FOR VOLUNTEERS TO CHECK.**
FanX provides Medical wristbands to individuals with accessibility needs.
This wristband identifies you to staff, crew, and security and indicates that you may need more help.
**Please note that the Medical wristband does not provide admission; you must have a valid ticket. The Medical wristband does not provide early access to the show nor guarantees seating or priority access to any areas of the show.**

3. ADA Trained Team Members At FanX
Trained team members specializing in ADA accommodations will wear Orange FanX shirts and be stationed throughout the event. If you need ADA help or have questions, you can go to Registration in Hall E or the Main Info Booth in the Vendor Hall, and someone can be called there to help you.
4. ADA Waiting Areas in the Grand Ballroom and Photo Ops
The ADA group will be seated first in the Ballroom for Panel Programming. We will do our best to keep groups together; however, if space is limited, you may be asked to limit your group to just one additional person. If you are using a wheelchair, you will be assigned to one of several designated sections located throughout the Ballroom. If the panel requires a ticket to enter, the same is expected for ADA.
*Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, so ADA seating may not be available if you arrive at the last minute to get to a seat for the panel.
Photo Ops will have an ADA waiting area. Please arrive at the ADA Waiting Area 15 minutes before your scheduled Photo Op, as space is limited.
In Photo Ops, we will keep your group together. When the celebrity or group is ready, ADA groups will be given special consideration to enter, as space permits. After you get your Photo Op and pick up the print, you can leave the Photo Op area! If you are using a wheelchair and would like to stand for your Photo Op, you can request to have the wheelchair moved out of the picture and returned to you when the photo is complete. You may have four (4) people per Photo Op. Babies under one year old are not counted.
5. Celebrity Row/Autographs. Unfortunately, we cannot allow priority signings at the conventions. Given the limited time guests are available for signing, fans cannot use lines other than what they are ticketed for. Please line up according to your ticket type.
We recommend that someone within your group wait in line for you. When your group reaches the front of the line, you may rejoin them for your signing.
Portable stools are also recommended.
Lines are wheelchair and scooter accessible and may be used while waiting in line.
If you would like to get a “selfie” with the celebrity, and they allow it, a crew member can use your phone to take a picture of you. *Please check that photo before you leave the table*.
6. ASL Interpreters
At FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention, we're dedicated to inclusivity. We offer ASL interpreting services to our deaf and hearing-impaired fans.
Grand Ballroom Panels: ASL interpreting will be available in the Grand Ballroom (our main celebrity panel room) for all panels without prior request.
Other Panels & Activities: Our ASL interpreters are available at a limited capacity, on a first-come, first-served basis, for on-site requests for panels and activities such as autographs, photo ops, etc. FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention can accommodate requests up to 2 weeks before the convention’s start date. Because of the demand for interpreters, we cannot guarantee the ability to accommodate requests made after that time via email or on-site. A Google form will be available 1 month before the event at the link below and will close at 11:59 pm MST two weeks before the convention's start date. *Please note that event times and dates are subject to cancellation without notice. If you have been confirmed for an event and the event has been changed/canceled, we will do our best to honor your request and communicate with you about the change.
If you would like to request an interpreter in advance, please fill out this form at least two weeks before the convention's first day.
Individual Requests: Because of the demand for interpreters, requests for a dedicated interpreter at the FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention cannot be facilitated. If you need those services, we encourage you to contact a local ASL staffing organization to get one. Your interpreter will require the purchase of a ticket for the dates on which they will be assisting you.
7. Quiet Room
We will have a Quiet Room (Room 253B) that allows you to escape the noise of the vendor floor and crowds. Please make sure to keep that a quiet space and respect those around you.
8. Family Room
We will also have a specified Family Room (Room 253A). This room is for families to have a space to take children who need to decompress. It will also include a secluded area for mothers to nurse. Please, only Mothers in that room.
9. Utah Attorney General's FanX Harassment Hotline
The Utah Attorney General’s Office is proud to partner with FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention to bring a 24/7 harassment hotline since the 2019 conference. Together, we hope to send a clear message to participants that bullying, abuse, assault, or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
During the event, anyone who witnesses a violation of the Zero Tolerance Harassment Policy should call the hotline. Reports will be routed to the AG’s Office for initial action and, if necessary, referred to the local police or FanX for further investigation.
The hotline number is 1-833-OUR-FANX.
10. Wheelchair Reservation
Here is the Rental Information Information for the Salt Palace. Rentals are very limited and need to be reserved online before the event.
Other Rentals in the Area:
11. PCA and Caregiver passes
All PCA (Personal Care Aides) provide personal care, such as help with bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, and moving. (This type of support is also called hands-on care.), are required to have their own ticket to the event.
They can purchase any ticket type that will get them entry to the event and still have the same access as the person they are assisting, even if it is a VIP. They need an entry wristband for that day.
*Friends of the person attending are not considered caregivers and do not fall under this category.*
12. Service Dogs are allowed
Only service dogs will be allowed at Salt Palace. According to state and federal law, a “service animal” is any dog that is trained, or is in training, to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability; and performs work or tasks, or is in training to perform work or tasks, that are directly related to the individual’s disability. Under the ADA, service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered. If the dog is out of control and the handler does not effectively control it or is not housebroken, the handler will be asked to remove the service animal from the premises.
If you need help with other service dogs or their handlers, please speak with a volunteer and ask them to contact the ADA manager. Our goal is to provide a safe experience for all our guests.
Emotional support animals are not allowed at this time.
